About us

We are Theo and Janneke, living here with our children Sverre and Bjorn and our two huskies, Atka and Storm.

In February 2025, we took a big step and moved from the eastern Netherlands to beautiful northern Sweden. We were ready for a new adventure, more peace and quiet, and above all, more space to enjoy nature and the outdoors.

Here in Åsele, we found the place we had been looking for. The vast forests, lakes, silence and open spaces captured our hearts. Life here is different. Slower. Closer to nature.

Soon, the idea was born to share this special place with others. And so Västerled Sheds was born.

We have consciously chosen to keep our accommodation small-scale and personal, with four unique places to stay: Farmers Shed, Forest Shed, Västerled Glamp and Stamsjö Glamp. Each accommodation has its own atmosphere and character, but they all represent what is important to us: peace, nature and privacy.

Despite the peace and closeness to nature, our accommodations are located close to the village of Åsele. This gives you the best of both worlds: you can enjoy the peace and beauty of nature while still having all the essential amenities within easy reach. In Åsele, you will find two supermarkets, a petrol station, a pizzeria, a pharmacy, Systembolaget and various other shops and services.

Whether you come to relax, explore Swedish nature, go on an adventure or simply escape the busyness of everyday life, we hope Västerled Sheds offers you a place where you can truly slow down and unwind. We enjoy living here every day, and what makes us happiest is being able to share this place with others and let them experience why we decided to make the move to northern Sweden.

Nature.  At Västerled Sheds, you are staying right in the middle of Swedish nature. This means you may encounter wildlife and, during the summer, mosquitoes and other insects. Enjoy the nature, peace and space, and please treat the surroundings and wildlife with respect. Who knows, you might even spot a moose, reindeer, crane, fox or another wild animal during your stay!
